prepping-cabinets

Homeowners alway ask the same question, “Will I be able to use my kitchen during the cabinet painting process?”  The answer is usually no, due to all the prep work that goes into protecting all the appliances.   We spray cainbets to get an ultra smooth paint finish.  In order to spray kitchen cabinets a lot of masking is needed to protect the appliances and the rest of the home.  Masking to spray can take up to 6-8 hours depending on the difficulty of the kitchen cabinets.  It’s really important that we don’t tie up your kitchen for more than one night.

Before we come to start your cabinets we need homeowners to plan to not use their kitchen for cooking until we finish with all of our coatings.  Prepping cabinets include, cleaning, sanding, priming, sanding, painting, sanding, painting and cleaning up afterwards.  Those are a lot of tasks to complete in a short period of time.  The most important thing to consider is not cooking in the kitchen after prepping has began.  Cooking in the kitchen will create a greasy atmosphere that will contaminant the already prepared cabinets and will disrupt the integrity of the coatings that we will be applying.

We request that homeowners get the snacks that are needed to make it through first night.  We will move the refrigerator out of the way for you to get access for drinks when you get thirsty.  The sink will also be accessible as well, we request that you don’t wash any dishes when accessing the sink.  It is recommended that you go out and get paper plates and utensils that can be thrown away once done.  Getting dish soap on the cabinets before we finish our coatings will contaminate the surfaces.
